Thanks to its chemical components and high temperature, the thermal water changes the chemical and physical properties of the mud, causing the formation of Humo minerals and the production of pharmacologically active substances responsible for the therapeutic effectiveness for osteoarticular diseases.
The mud, which has a temperature of about 40-42°C, is gradually applied onto the body, avoiding some more sensitive areas. The duration of the application is established by the doctor.
Once the mud treatment is finished, a hot shower is taken followed by immersion in a thermal bath at a temperature of 37°C which lasts about ten minutes.
After the bath the body is dried with hot cloths and covered in order provoke perspiration.
